Transferring Veterinarians

River’s Edge Pet Medical Center is equipped for transfer of patients from their regular clinic for overnight, weekend or overflow care. Serving as an extension of care for a patient’s regular veterinarian is a standard we hold high at River’s Edge. We work closely with regular veterinarians to keep them informed and adhere to their preferences for transferring cases back vs. discharging straight from our clinic.

Referrals and Transfers

Our veterinarians will try to follow your treatment plan as closely as possible although ultimately the doctor on the case at the time of transfer is held responsible and will treat the patient appropriately. We will always refer clients back to their regular veterinarians for follow up/long term care and will get records to you promptly after discharge.

If you are a referring veterinarian transferring a case to us we request that you call into our clinic at 541-924-1700 to speak with our veterinarian on staff as well as fill out the form below. Requests for estimates will need to be initiated via phone call.
We may be able to offer reduced transfer exams for cases transferred directly to us from long distances such as coastal areas or Eugene. To see if your client may be eligible, please call into our clinic and speak to our staff.

Upon transfer please include any radiographs, lab work and health records. This information will prevent any confusion and duplication of diagnosis. Our records will be sent back to you in the morning with a confirmation call to ensure receipt of all material. Deposits are due prior to service, and all payment is due in full at the time of service. An estimate will be provided prior to care.

Non-referral appointments
